Safeguarding, Whistleblowing and Complaints

At the Centre for Africa's Forests Research, Engagement and Collaboration, we understand the importance of protecting the vulnerable, providing a safe and secure environment for each one of them in the workplace by ensuring we have robust policies and procedures in place for raising complaints and any concerns. At the core of our work is protecting the vulnerable in our workplace, our projects and programmes. We have an approach of zero-tolerance against any form of bullying, abuse, sexual harassment or exploitation. We uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, safety and accountability in the workplace, in our activities and projects.

The Centre for Africa's Forests Research, Engagement and Collaboration encourages all, whether you are a staff member, a stakeholder, one of our partners or a member of a local community to speak up if you encounter any issue in relation to safeguarding. We uphold great importance in addressing all safeguarding and ethical issues in all activities carried out by our staff, including collaboration with partners and individuals as part of these activities or delivery of our work. This includes children, women and vulnerable adults in the communities where we work, who may be vulnerable to abuse.
